Art Guild chips in for skate park
ORANGE PARK – Members of the Art Guild of Orange Park recently raised $500 for the nonprofit that runs the Orange Park Skate Park on Gano Avenue. At the recent KidsFest at town hall, June 9-10, Art Guild members brought in used skate board decks that they had painted and auctioned them off during the event. The decks were displayed in the foyer of Town Hall while visitors were encouraged to place bids. The deck that received the highest bid, titled “Watching,” was painted by Desiree Kantrim of the Art Guild. Another popular design, “When Doves Cry,” was painted by Art Guild member Debby Pounders. Proceeds from the auction will be used to increase offerings in the Skate Park Pro Shop, which is operated by Orange Park Patrons, a nonprofit. Kantrim is shown here with auction winner Jenny Branch.
