Rotary Club makes donation
ORANGE PARK – On Oct. 5, Rotary Club of Orange Park President, Jon Cantrell, presented a $250 check to the St. Johns Country Day School Rotary Interact Club. Interact club president Lea Shah, vice president Esan Patel, faculty sponsor Heather Velasco, and the other club members gathered around to accept the donation. Interact club members will use the money to buy raffle prizes for their upcoming talent show fundraiser on Oct. 14. All proceeds from the show will be used to package 15,000 meals for Rise Against Hunger.

Girl Scouts help with Irma relief
MIDDLEBURG – Girl Scout from Troops 1447 and 2104 from Gateway Council sorted and folded clothes and shoes for those affected by Hurricane Irma. All students at Middleburg Elementary, they said they loved being able to work alongside the crews who came to pick up the donations. The faculty and staff at the school helped ensure the donations came in and were processed for families in immediate need. Two of the girls in the troop had homes flooded, but they wanted to be right there giving to others, even in their own time of need.

Knights chip in for Food Pantry
GREE COVE SPRINGS – Knights of Columbus Council 11220 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Fleming Island recently delivered 2,572 pounds of donated food, water and toiletries to the Food Pantry of Green Cove Springs.
