Faith walk: Two ways

Posted

Scripture makes it clear that there are two ways of life. One is the right way; the other is the wrong way. We can choose which of the two we take.

Jesus said, “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult and only a few ever find it.”

So, Jesus defines the two ways as a narrow way and a broad way.

John the Apostle writes that there is a way of light and a way of darkness. (Read chapter one of 1 John.) In fact, John makes it very clear that you can only walk in one path. The choice must be made between the right way, that John calls the way of Light, and the wrong way, which he calls the way of darkness.

In addition to knowing there are two ways, it is important for us to know that we can choose the path that we will take. We have the ability to make a choice. And everyone does make that choice.

The narrow way – the way of light – leads us to eternal life on a victorious path. The broad way – the way of darkness – leads to defeat and destruction.

If you have not yet come to the time of making that choice, you will. As you stand at the crossroads of decision and you see the two paths that stretch ahead of you, you will realize you must choose one path. There are two paths before you, but you can only walk down one of them.

Make sure you choose the right way. The right path will lead you to the destination everyone desires to reach. The wrong path will take you to a place where no one wants to go.

There are two ways. There are two destinations. Choose the right path. When you do, you will be choosing the right destination.
