God has sent some wonderful people into my life. The longer I live, the more I realize this is true. And the more I appreciate the people that God has sent to be a blessing to me.
One person who was a great blessing to me was Mrs. Pansy. Years ago, I went to a small town in West Central Florida to become the pastor of a new congregation. The only person who was a member of the new congregation at that humble beginning was Mrs. Pansy. She was the organist, church treasurer and leader of the “congregation.” During the years I was there, she was also my biggest supporter.
There was no congregation in the beginning. Mrs. Pansy made sure there was enough in the offering to support me. As we began to grow in numbers, she continued to give the same in the church offerings as always. She made it possible for me to have enough income to be able to give all my time to the building of the church. The growth of the church quickly reflected the value of her actions which made it possible for me to be a full-time pastor.
In my early time at that church, I drove the worst car I have ever owned. There is no need to dwell on that!
Mrs. Pansy knew the constant inconvenience I suffered with that car. A day came when someone in our church traded in a car that was less than two years old with low miles and in very good condition. She came to me and said she wanted me to have it. Shortly afterward she told me the dealer was ready for me to get the car. I went to get it and everything had been arranged for me to drive it back home.
What a blessing she was to me in so many ways. She did it all as service to the Lord.
God has always sent his servant and messenger to me for my need of the hour. And there are people in my life today that I am sure are assigned by the Lord to advance my ministry and to bless me with their service. I do appreciate every person that God assigns to give me the support I need to serve Him.
