Ezekiel was a prophet in the Old Testament. God gave him messages for the Jewish people. One of the great things Ezekiel prophesied was the restoration of the nation of Israel in Chapter 37 of the book in the Bible named ‘Ezekiel.’

God showed Ezekiel a large valley filled with dry bones. Having Ezekiel look out over the valley, the Lord asked him, “Can these bones live?” When Ezekiel answered, he said, “Lord, you know.” What the prophet saw was an impossibility. No, the dead, dry bones could not live again in the natural. Ezekiel knew it would take a supernatural act.

The meaning of God restoring the dry bones to life is that God promises and prophesies the restoration of Israel. In 1948, the nation of Israel was re-born. Knowledgeable students of the Bible view the restoration and the continuation of Israel as God’s miracle. He has, in fact, breathed life into the dry bones in the valley.

While the restoration of Israel is clearly the primary meaning of Ezekiel 37, it is also an allegory teaching that our Lord is a God of restoration for us. So, if your life is a collection of dead, dry bones, there is a path to victory for you. God restores dry bones. He brings them to life.

The despair, defeat and deterioration of your life are reversible. God’s merciful act of restoration is the miracle answer for you. Take all the unwanted burdens of your life and cast them into the valley. They are just “dry bones” in the plan of God for your life. Put your total trust in God for His restoration! He can – and will – turn your dry bones into a victory of restoration.

The same God of Israel who made the dry bones of Ezekiel’s valley live again is the God who is ready to turn your dry bones into new life.

Give your dry bones to Him. Let God breathe the breath of life into you. You will find that His restoration is the power of victory for you.
