An old story about the city slicker and the farmer brings a smile. It seems the city slicker was driving on back roads and had become confused about his location when he saw an old farmer hoeing in the field. He stopped, got out of his car and walked toward the farmer to ask for his help.

“Can you tell me how far it is to the next town?” he asked. The old farmer paused, looked around a little and replied, “I don’t reckon I know.” So the city slicker asked, “How far is it to the main highway?” Again, the farmer answered, “I don’t reckon I know.” Exasperated, he said to the farmer, “You don’t know much, do you?” The farmer quickly said, “I know I ain’t lost.”

Do you know where you are today? Have you become confused on your journey while trying to find the way to your long-desired destination?

Stop today and ask directions.

God has a roadmap for you and He will share it with you if you ask Him. That map is His plan for you and He wants you to know it.

“Your own ears will hear him.

Right behind you a voice will say,

‘This is the way you should go,’

Whether to the right or to the left.”

-Isaiah 30:21 NLT

The Scriptures tell us many times that God will show us His path and guide us on it. A classic word from the Lord is Proverbs 3:6:

“In all your ways acknowledge him,

and he shall direct your paths.”

If, today, your life is not what you want it to be, turn yourself over to the Lord and let Him direct you. He will show you the road you are to travel in order to reach the right destination.
