YARD SALE: to benefit Kairos Outside, a ministry that serves women impacted by a loved one’s incarceration, is holding its annual fund raiser yard sale, Oct. 28 from 8 a.m.- 2 p.m. at St. Michaels Anglican Church, 5041 LakeShore Dr. West on Fleming Island.

GARDEN CLUB OF ORANGE PARK: Presents "Alternative Gardening" by Master Gardener Sarah Harvey, Oct. 28 from 9:30-11:30 a.m., at the Orange Park Public Library on Plainfield Avenue. Light refreshments will be served. Come learn about alternatives to landscaped flower beds and consider becoming a member of the Garden Club.

DRUG TAKE BACK: Oct. 28 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Orange Park Medical Center Emergency Room. With aid from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and other organizations, residents can safely discard unused prescription medications and keep them out of the wrong hands and the water supply.

MOONLIGHT OVER MAGNOLIA: The Historical Society of Orange brings local history to life Oct. 28 at 4 p.m. with 45-minute guided tours in period costume. Visitors can stroll through time with re-enactors who tell the stories of the cemetery’s permanent residents. Free parking is available at the First Baptist Church at 1140 Kingsley Ave., Orange Park. Admission is free but Society donations are accepted.

HAUNTED HOUSE: Oct. 31 from 5:30-8:30 p.m., Moosehaven Heart of the Community “Monster Mash and Haunted House.” Free admission; bring canned goods to help area needy families, featuring free candy, concessions, move on the big screen and the Middleburg Ghostbusters.
