Hospital announces two promotions
ORANGE PARK – Orange Park Medical Center has made two new key promotions among its leadership team.
Karen Nielsen – a 20-year employee of Hospital Corporation of America – is the new director of case management. Nielsen has been with Orange Park Medical Center for 16 years.
Nielsen’s responsibilities include the oversight of care coordination for patients and family members, which includes providing a collaborative assessment, planning, facilitation, evaluation and advocacy for options and services.
Daniel Perez – a 12-year OPMC veteran – is the new director of critical care. During his OPMC tenure Perez has held many nursing and progressive leadership positions within Critical Care and the Catheterization Lab.
Perez’s responsibilities include oversight of the hospital’s ICU units, which encompass the medical surgical intensive care unit, progressive care unit, cardiovascular intensive care unit, trauma intensive care unit along with dialysis and rapid response, which Perez played an integral role in starting at Orange Park Medical Center.
Perez has an associate of nursing degree from Mercyhurst College in Northeast, Penn. and a bachelor’s of nursing from Jacksonville University.
