Green Cove Dragway is our home

Posted

Please don’t make us homeless.

Seriously, every race day, while commuting to the IHRA, legal racetrack in beautiful Green Cove Springs, I see racers stopped at gas stations, sandwich shops, garages, etc. This track is so very good for the community.

From a young person’s viewpoint, it definitely gives them an attainable goal to shoot for. You can see stock, four-cylinder cars racing against $80,000 super class rides. The fact is this, you cannot waste your money on drugs and alcohol and such as that and save for new tires or a new engine.

I cannot begin to count how many people, men, women and children that I have let sit in my cars or on my bikes and get their pictures taken. Countless. If this track closes, I will still keep right on racing, as I have done for the past 26 years now.

Each time a pair of racers goes down the track, there is a winner and a loser. We will all be losing if the track is forced to shut down operations. The track loves family and they tirelessly do so much to show this.

Their Halloween race-safe trick or treat event is a fun night! And let’s not forget the Christmas Parade, who won that?? I have put on and sponsored several races at Green Cove Dragway and I had friends from as far away as South Carolina come down. They all immediately fell in love with the entire set-up. They were overwhelmed at the small town atmosphere but legitimately ran track.

Just look at all of the many businesses that have sponsored this facility. None of these business owners are ashamed or embarrassed to have their names associated with this track. Why?? The answer is simple, come on out to the track and you can see for yourselves. Thank you for taking the time to read this statement.
